CCUK DIFFERENCE IS OUR NETWORK FOR PEOPLE TO COME TOGETHER AND MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES AND OUR CULTURE.

At CCUK, we have a responsibility to improve our sustainability as a business who cares about our impact and contribution to our planet, our people, our communities, customers and audiences.

Our network groups focus on 4 areas

We formed these network groups in 2022 so it is early stages for us, but we have 4 groups of people who are passionate about creating actions which raise awareness, create inclusive initiatives, offer support and care, driving positive change by coming together and doing what we do best – making a difference.

• Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

• Charity

• Environment

• Mental Health

Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

Our goal is to make CCUK a place where all of our people, present and future, can belong, be themselves and thrive.  Through support, education and awareness we will value and embrace diversity of thoughts, ideas and ways of working that people from all backgrounds, experiences and identities can bring to our culture and success.

CHARITY

Our charity goal is to continue to work with our charity partner, Make Some Noise, and identify further opportunities to make a positive difference in all our communities.

Environment

Our goal is to identify opportunities to reduce our impact on the planet and deliver projects to improve our sustainability. We already have mostly paperless offices and working from home has reduced our company car mileage significantly and we have started the switch to hybrid vehicles across our car fleet.

GOMO has already offset its carbon emissions with Make it Wild through tree planting and the wider CCUK group is undertaking a review with Carbon Neutral Britain to get the international standard for carbon emissions measured se we can offset them across the whole organisation. Our FM and Arqiva transmission currently run on around 98% renewable energy, while we are already looking at how we change our fleet in GOMO so the iVan screens are battery powered, rather than by a diesel generator.

Mental Health

Our goal is to positively promote and protect your mental health both in and out of work. Through support, education and awareness we can create a positive and proactive mental health culture.

We know having access to the right level of support when you need it is vital so when it comes to mental health resources for our people, our options are extensive and cover all needs in Health, Life, Work, Family and Money. Our Employee Assistance Programme offers 24/7 access to professional with counselling sessions and guidance on mental health needs.

We have proudly supported the mental health minute on all our stations through the years and will be doing this again in 2022. We strive to recognise important health topics that can have an impact on people’s physical and mental wellness and develop progressive policies including Menopause and Loss.

We want to give people even more tools to support their own mental health. This year we have a roadmap for the rollout of Mental Health First Aid Training for every manager and employee volunteers.
