CCUK SUCCESS STORIES
Walk us through your journey so far here at CCUK and tell us about some of your highlights?
I joined the company as Marketing Exec for Heart Yorkshire in 2017. A few months later I was extremely humbled (and shocked) to win the prestigious Make A Difference Award at the Company-wide Christmas Conference. Fast forward over the years my career has evolved into working across Heart and Smooth and now working across Group and it doesn’t stop there I enrolled in the company’s degree scheme and currently undertaking a Digital Marketing degree.
What are your top tips for mastering the work-life blend?
The ol’ cliché– fail to plan, plan to fail! Importantly making pockets of time for tasks and diarising them…. But honestly – Alexa sorts my life out, from setting reminders and alarms to compiling shopping lists, and populating the online shopping basket and even reading my children’s stories!
How have you found support from CCUK in achieving this?
CCUK invest in its people. Last year the entire company was taken on a 6 months goal achievement/life skills coaching training, this helped me plan out my own personal work-life blend. It’s not just career goals but also learning personal mindfulness and fitness ones too.
If you could give 1 piece of advice to someone starting their career at CCUK what would it be?
Enjoy the journey and embrace the opportunity that is available, from the free at-home fitness classes in the Ed App to writing and achieving your personal best.
Content Marketing Executive
Emma Robinson
Walk us through your journey so far here at CCUK and tell us about some of your highlights?
I started in 2018 in the street team, while doing my marketing degree. Not long after that, I was offered the opportunity to work as the Marketing Assistant. After graduating I was hired as Content Marketing Executive. I have now gone on to help build the CCUK website from the ground up, build my copywriting skills and so much more.
What made you want to work for CCUK?
I think for me it was seeing like-minded people who were passionate about what they did and that really stood out to me from my very first street star shift. I loved that hard work didn’t go unnoticed and really was recognised and rewarded.
How are we living up to your expectations?
A big thing for me is gaining experience in a range of different things and despite my title being “content marketing” I work across a lot of areas, I remember during the interview process someone telling me that no two days were the same and they were absolutely right. I could not have imagined that nearly a year into this role I would have achieved so many career goals already!
If you could give 1 piece of advice to someone starting their career at CCUK what would it be?
Build relationships and show off the passion you have for what you do. I think during my time as a street star I told just about anyone who would listen that I saw my future at CCUK, the team worked with me to ensure this goal was achieved. As some say persistence is a key ingredient to success!
